There are mains sockets throughout the boat for use when connected to a shore supply. In addition there is an inverter
which provides 350 watts of 50Hz mains power when a shore supply is not available. The boat uses 12v DC for most
of its systems with an outlet in the cockpit which is useful for lighting when at anchor or for a searchlight. USB
sockets on the control panel are useful for charging mobile phones, computers, etc. The high intensity anchor light
fitted to the post on the stern is automatic, switching on at dusk and off at dawn.
High output solar panels were installed in 2015. A copy of the wiring diagram is attached. Have proved exceptionally efficient making the boat virtually shore-power independent. The solar panel controller is of the advanced Tracer MTPP type. A high-tech battery monitor (Smart gauge) was installed at the same time and this gives an accurate indication of battery charge percentage.
