Designed by Neils Jeppesen in 1984, the X-402 hull was used for a one-off pure racer which won the One Ton Cup in 1986. About 80 X-402s were built between 1984 and 1990, production yachts being offered with a choice of fractional rig or masthead rig.
The X-402 is a stylish fast cruiser-racer, one of the many such designs from X-Yachts of Denmark. Like all X-Yachts, the 402 is rigged and equipped for racing, which means good quality deck gear that actually works well, yet fitted out as a comfortable but fast cruiser.
This is a modified X-402 and a true dual-purpose cruiser/racer. She is featuring the structural rigidity and performance characteristics particular to X-Yachts of Denmark. She has been recently upgraded and modified and is fully equipped for extensive cruising and club racing.
She has innovative updates including a state-of-the art rudder, a large opening hatch over the master aft double cabin and a bimini on flexible battens. 2 large lockers aft and 1 on the port side behind the aft head for large items stowage are accessible from the cockpit. She has been cared for, family cruised and weekend raced.
