Headlining replaced 2024 & Coppercoated 2024. Up-to-date electronics.
Brizo is one of the last Westerly Merlins built & possibly one of the best maintained and equipped Merlins around. She is sail number 166 and one of only 21 Merlin 29s built. Brizo, being a Merlin 29, benefits from the addition of the sugar scoop stern providing easy access from a dinghy or the water. She has been layed up ashore every winter during her current and previous ownerships. Brizo benefits from lots of upgrades and additional equipment. Brizo is ready to go, freshly polished and until 21st March 2026, can be seen ashore in Emsworth. After this, she will be in the water & available for a sea trial in Chichester Harbour.
Brizo is acknowledged as a fast boat for her size. Although not raced hard in strong winds, the current owners have never failed to win several club trophies every year. She sails extremely well and can easily be handled single-handed which the current owner does often. Her bilge keels fit the Solent area perfectly allowing her to navigate the shallower waters and take the ground if required. The current owners have greatly enjoyed cruising Brizo around the Solent and the South Coast and are only selling as they wish to purchase a larger yacht.

Brizo is perfect for a family of 4. She can comfortably sleep 3 people without sharing a berth and 6 people at a squeeze. It’s perfect for a couple or a family with children. Although only a 29ft yacht, she benefits from the “3-cabin” design with a double cabin aft, a double cabin forwards and a mid-ships saloon. The saloon seating has an upholstered infill piece to convert it to a double berth. The forward V-berth also has an upholstered infill piece.
The main saloon has a u-shaped seating to port & a tapered seat to starboard. There are shelves above the seating with a high fiddle for storage. There is additional easily accessible storage under the seating. Between the seating is a heavily built table with lockable large drop-leaves. This can easily sit 6 for dinner. The broadcast radio has 4 speakers in the corners of the saloon & the TV can be mounted on the forward bulkhead.
To starboard is a good sized chart table with a lifting lid and plenty of storage. The electrical switch panel is above the chart table along with the VHF radio & broadcast radio.
To port is the galley area. This features a gas cooker with grill and 2 burners. There is a stainless steel sink with foot pumped water. To the left of the sink is a cold box for food storage. There is also a small fold up table to the right of the sink to provide extra flat space in the galley.
Between the chart table & the heads to starboard is a good sized hanging space mostly used for foul weather gear.
The heads are aft of the saloon to starboard. There is a sink with hand pumped water & large storage lockers above and below. The loo is forward facing making it easy to use while underway on either tack.
The large stern cabin can sleep two and is to port. There is a hanging locker just inside the door. Light and ventilation is provided by two opening ports. The 75l water tank is under the berth as are the engine & house batteries.
All lighting is LED. In the saloon, there are 2 overhead lights. There is a red/white light with a flexible shaft at the chart table. In the galley area, there is a “reading” type light above the cooker and a long striplight above the sink & food preparation area. In the stern cabin there is a wall mounted light and a “reading” light on the ceiling. In the front cabin there are 2 “reading” type lights. Finally there is a long striplight in the heads.
All upholstery, having recently been laundered is in great condition. It is removed and stored during the winters.
