Constructed in Italy in 1963 this distinct mahogany 15 metre motorsailer has recently undergone extensive restoration and is awaiting a new loving owner. Built at the famous Picchioti shipyard, it is a one-off design created by F.A. Boretti who loved classical and interesting proportions. A new 320 HP heavy duty Daewoo engine is the powerhouse behind this traditional boat, with a cruising speed of 12 Knots. Many extras include separate service batteries, dynamo, beautiful canopies, rear platform with shower, completely kitted out cockpit, fly bridge, solar panels, a long teak deck, davits, as well as all the usual mod-cons.
Mowgli is a fascinating traditional boat with a vintage spirit. The modern additions during refurbishment, have been sympathetic to the feel of the boat and have enhanced its comfort and unique style. It has a fly bridge and an ample lounging area at the top, enabling brilliant 360 degree views and making cruising around the Mediterranean a sheer pleasure.
There is 24V electricity on the boat and provision for 220V supply when moored in a marina.

Powered by the Daewoo MD196 TI, 6 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 320 HP, it propels Mowgli to a cruising speed of 12 Knots at 1950 rpm. This is a Heavy Duty engines, operated only during high season every summer and has clocked about 1500 hours. It is regularly maintained by the same engineer who is a local person and main dealer approved. The engine sits comfortably within the engine room and is also powering a dynamo that feed auxiliary batteries separate to the engine batteries. There is enough space around the engine to walk around to inspect, there are also shelves for tools etc., situated next to the diesel tanks.
Constructed in 1963 in Italy the hull is mahogany throughout. It has a solid metal keel at the very bottom and along with the 3.5 tonnes of lead weights evenly distributed in its hall, offer an excellent stability during cruising. It has a teak deck regularly maintained and oiled and this has been re-caulked recently. The interior and pilothouse are also mahogany throughout. The railings are stainless steel and the wooden handrail as well as many other parts constructed by a local master craftsman specializing on quality period boats.
A lovely mahogany salon in the spacious pilothouse with comfortable benches, seating up to 10 people. Towards the front, the helmsman place with navigation instruments, the steering wheel and beautiful architect's draws for maps and charts. Forward and down below the galley a bathroom and two double cabins with 4 bunks. The ample engine room is located and the floor of the pilothouse and is entered via a door located in the galley area. From the pilothouse going astern down below, there is the beautiful owners cabin with two big beds and a bathroom.
Separate service batteries to the engine batteries, dynamo and powerful fire fighting hose. Refurbished original brass liquid-filled compass, in its original housing. 7 inch touch screen SIMRAD GPS plotter with transducer, 2 VHFs, charger sockets for USB and cigarette lighter, original wind screen wiper, blower for cooling engine room.
All sails are in storage and in good working order.
Fire fighting hose working off an internal pump, pumping sea water at the press of a lever, plus mobile fire extinguishers and an engine fire extinguisher fixed in the engine room. All the usual life vests, plus 2 life rafts situated at the top of the boat.
