Wanted - New loving home for our beautiful Excalibur 36 - lying River Dart.
Designed by renowned designer Van de Stadt and moulded by Tyler and initally fitted out by Southern Ocean Shipyard - built to Lloyds 100 A1 Plus specification. GRP with encapsulated lead keel and spade rudder. Very strong construction - long and slim with beautiful lines weather and sea- kindly with a comfortable motion in a seaway - she sails like a dream and catches comments where ever we go!!
There were 52 Excalibur's built and quite a few have a number of serious ocean passages and world cruising to her credit as well as being highly successful in RORC class two - back in the day.
She was laid up ashore and largely unused for nearly the first 20 years of her life before being bought and professionally fitted out in Southampton circa 1994 - she had the benefit of a brand new engine installation, Formula Spars custom mast and rig, upholstery, galley, heads and much more. She also has Cap Horn self steering - unused and Autohelm ST6000. She was largely unused from the mid 1990s to 2009 where she was laid up ashore in Hamble before we acquired her and bought her to Dartmouth. Also new sails 2009. In that time we have used her mainly for summer coastal cruising and added new equipment from time to time. She is well equipped and presented in very good condition and much loved - circa 2020 Survey report available. No expense spared in 1994 refit. The Excalibur is considered to be an excellent, very capable and strongly built yacht for bluewater or coastal cruising. Please contact us for further details.
